1 year agoHaha no not per day, that would be crazy. Just when I get into making one, that's usually the time frame. But it varies. Certainly not a professional video editor as a day job haha though it would be cool.
I just in the last few years found there was a word/genre called PMV. You used to see edits like that on tumblr now and then in the early to mid 2010s, and that's where I first posted, but I've always just made edits to music similar to what I am doing now, but certainly less advanced. Then I found Spankbang and since I had around 100 or so "PMVs" I started posting there, and now here. I learned how to do it better over time and I still learn something new every time, especially with FCP.
iMovie is a totally great place to learn, and it can do a lot. From there you can advance to FCP--that's what I suggest, then you don't just drop 300 bucks on FCP. However, they do have a 90 trial, which is extremely generous. I haven't paid a cent for FCP yet, and I have, as you can see, used it a bunch.
And good luck if you decide to make one! And girlfriends over porn any day. Most certainly!

Super fuckin hot as always. How long does it take you to put together a PMV?? It feels like a crime getting a new amazing PMV from you as frequently as you upload!

It just depends. This one was pretty quick in two sessions over 2 days. Maybe 10 hours over two days? That sounds like a lot, but there can be a lot involved and some PMVs take longer. I usually try to do most of it in one go, and then come back to it over the course of a day or two and tweak what I don't like and make sure the video moves in a good way with transitions, framing, sequence, etc. It's fun.
I've started using shorter songs which actually makes it a little more time consuming because you really have to make choices on what to include and what to leave out. But I like doing it, it's not like it's work or anything. And the end result with shorter songs is tighter and I think a more enjoyable watch. I have started editing the songs as well, re-arranging parts of the song, looping, chopping, adding effects sometimes, all in service of the video's momentum.
I also just recently upgraded to Final Cut Pro after using (believe it or not) iMovie for everything before. My first FCP was the Ivy Wolfe tribute and the four that followed are all FCP as well, which would explain the sudden jump in productivity. New toys. There's a lot to learn in FCP--it's huge and seemingly unlimited. What better way to learn that with porn.
I've been doing my own edits for almost 10 years, but I didn't know there was a whole genre called PMV until about 2-3 years ago. I have an archive of PMVs, some of which I've posted here, though a lot of it still lurks on SpankBang, but a lot of what I post here now is brand new and is more theme-oriented.

Wow. Thanks for such a detailed response. You're a true professional. What do you do for a living? I'm curious what type of person has five hours free per day to make PMV's, while also seeming to be such an intelligent and professional person. When you said you've been doing your own edits for almost 10 years but didn't know of PMV's, what exactly were the edits you were making?
And yeah, it's a shame what happened with SpankBang. And PH for that matter. But in the end, it may end up being for the better because this dedicated PMV site seems to be doing pretty good. I've always had a fantasy of making a PMV...maybe one day I'll get around to it. I've got a lot of ideas and even know what song(s) I'd use, but it would be my first entry into any sort of video editing and I'd like to do it correctly. Which would include purchasing FCP. It's insane you were making PMV's on iMovie. Anyways, if I'm going to make a PMV in my life I'd better do it before too long because my girlfriend may be moving in pretty soon. Unfortunately that may hinder my ability to watch so much porn as well. But such is the progression of life. Hahaha. Thank you for all of your work, I'm a huge fan and absolutely love your content.
