Their denuded bodies and averted gaze from the painter creates a sense of othering, The beautiful, unveiled Algerian woman is desperately waiting for her liberation provided by the white man.
In real life Tabatha Cash married Franck Verdon, the pornographer who had built an empire from film, magazines and the Hot 'Or Awards, held annually in Cannes the week before the film festival.
