@TheGoulouge There's a few reasons, the two quickest to explain would be: It's not about how much something else sucks, its about how amazing the succubus is. Heres the only historical information I found, but I didn’t dig too deep. According to Kabbalistic and later Jewish magical tradition, Mahalath (sometimes spelled Mahalat) is described as a primal female demon or spirit—mother to Agrat bat Mahalat and sometimes listed among the “Four Mothers of Demons.” She is often associated with illness or malice and described as the parent of powerful demonesses. Mahalath is not a historical figure. Seems to be more of a modern invention. They’re borrowing a name from obscure mysticism, mixing it with demonology tropes, and layering on their own symbolic or ritualistic spin.
I used to be a gooner but now I’m more of an apologist, not a great one but that’s it.
