This would encode the twice, no catastrophe but there is always some loss. Another option would be to play around with the export settings of the editing software.

Incredible PMV man!! But dude I just wanna suggest something to you regarding uploading the 4K file. Have you tried running your master through Handbrake? I upload all of my videos in 4K but I'm unable to just upload the OG file, I have to run it through Handbrake first. You basically just take your 4K master, put it into Handbrake, and under "Preset", hover over "Web", and select "Creator 2160p60 4K". Then just hit start. It will compress your video and optimize the codec or whatever for websites like this or any video streaming site. It gives you a much smaller file but it's still 4K and honestly I'm unable to tell the difference from the master. It definitely looks better than 1080p. And the programs free. Give it a try if you're interested.
